The Ladder is RangeLeagues’ ranked competition — one global season, one rating, open to every account the moment it opens. There is no separate club to find or join: you are enrolled automatically, and your first scored target starts the clock.
Every ranked submission feeds a single number, your NCR (Normalized Capability Rating), 0–100. NCR maps to a skill class shown next to your name everywhere on the platform:

You start Unclassified in both disciplines. Submit and pass verification on 2 qualifying events in a discipline and NCR calculates a real class from those scores — before that, there is nothing to rank yet, so "U" is honest rather than a placeholder zero.
A season runs 3 months with 6 qualifying events — a mix of rifle and pistol releases through the quarter. Only scores from after the season’s opening day count, so joining mid-season never means catching up on matches you missed.

Through the quarter: 6 events release, 2 per discipline minimum to earn a class.
Season close, then a short settle window before final standings and class lock.
Print that event’s target — it carries a unique session ID and a calibration line, the same anti-cheat approach postal matches have always used.
Shoot the course of fire under the event’s rules, from your own range.
Photograph the target and submit it through the event page — the app reads your shots off the target’s own printed calibration line, so there’s no separate ruler or coin to include.
Other entrants get assigned a handful of submissions to independently re-plot; enough matching re-plots certify the score.
Your NCR updates once the submission is certified — no separate step, no waiting on a match director.
Private and community leagues are still for shooting with people you know — friends, a local club, a discipline niche. The Ladder sits above all of that as the one competitive season everyone’s account is already in, so your rating means the same thing whether you found the platform through a friend’s league or on your own.
